They book-bag was full of decorating mags, motherhood books, and old trash mags (US, People, etc.). Now granted, I can throw away the trash mags, since Jessica has put on a few pounds and that is old news anyway! But what to do with the rest? I mean, no southern lady throws away past issues of 'Southern Living'. My mother always told me it was considered a sin, so therefor, mother knows best. Besides, when my time finally does come to build a bigger house I will need those for reference. I'm sure they will totally be out of style, but a girl can dream right?! The parenting books obviously haven't been put to use much either, but I know what I spent on all those things, and I refuse to throw them away!
So, basically I'm just a big pack rat, and I really need help. I feel like everyone else has their lives so together and mine is in complete disarray. You would think being a stay-at-home mom, I would have the perfect clean, tidy, everything has a place home but this just isn't the case. How do people do it? Am I the only one who has these problems?
Oh well, I guess I'll start figuring out what to do with the left over sunscreen in the beach bag tomorrow.......or some other day!

ReplyDeleteDon't foot yourself. Most peoples homes are not organized. Just because you are a stay at home mom...so am I...doesn't mean you love to be organized. You have all sorts of other things to keep you busy and to hold your attention. Let's just start with than little man in your life. Enough said. Don't feel bad. Just think you just found something that was priceless. Now go buy yourself some cute magazine holders...

You sound like me. I am the biggest pack rat and also am obsessed with organizing stuff. What you could do is throw out the trash mags if you don't want them and keep the ones you want. Take them out of the bags they are in and store them in one of those smaller plastic storage things. Or be cute with it and get one of those stylish baskets to put them in and store them up on a shelf somewhere. Nothing wrong with keeping them, you just have to find the best place to get them out of the way and what kind of cute storage bin with fit there. Then, you could fold up the bags and store them in a closet! :) Just some ideas. I am convinced being a stay at home mother is way harder than most if not all jobs in the real world. It is a true job. I'm sure you are doing awesome girl!

I can totally relate! I've got junk stored in the weirdest of places! just buy a cute basket (or basketS depending on how many you have!) and store the mags and books you want to save in it...
