What a Day

It started off fairly normal. I jump out of bed to get a shower before Morgan leaves so he can tend to the kiddo (am I the only other mom that does this?). Get a little cereal (Honey Nut Cheerios-my fav), make-up, hair, clothes, the same ole routine. Rush to get Wyatt ready and out the door to take him to Nannas (hubby's mom). At this point, I give serious props to working moms. You would think I could do this in a timely manner, but I was stuggling to leave by 9:45! It seems like it takes me FOREVER to get ready these days.

Anyway, I drop little man off around 10 and head to my friend Wendi's house to pick her up. Being that she is a mother and takes care of another child during the day, she had to line it up with her g-ma to watch her crew! Whew. What an ordeal.

So, off we head to Huntsville. Keep in mind this is supposed to be an enjoyable girls trip to pick up bridesmaids dresses (more on that later), do a little shopping, and visit the alterations shop. Well, we could not have picked a drearier day (is that a word?). Our first stop is to a local paper store to buy: plates, napkins, invites, etc. All having to do with showers and such for the upcoming wedding we are both in. Might I say that I don't know if being a bridesmaid is such an honor. I don't mean to sound ungrateful, but geez, there is a lot involved! I don't think we have had a free weekend in the past month. Not to mention, my hubs is also in the wedding so we are forking out some major cash on this one. I'm really not trying to fuss because we have been close to the groom for years and love him like a brother, but I think you all know what I mean?!
After our trip to the paper store, we head to the bridal shop. I am so glad I'm not going through that again! While we were there a "future bride" comes in looking for a dress and she's getting married NEXT WEEKEND! That would totally stress me out. Anyway, we get our dresses (which I had never seen before) and are on our way. Off to the mall we go! By the way, we are totally on 'Mom Time' so we get things done in record speed :)
At the mall we:
1. Return some mascara to Clinique and get what I really wanted! I've always been a High Impact girl and they gave me High  Definition.....just won't cut it :)
2. Drool over all of Macs colors! I could spend a fortune on make-up.
3. Check out the newest spring shoes.
4. Go in NY & Co because Wendi has a coupon, and of course, I buy a couple of things too!
5. Look in Victoria's Secret for a gift for a lingerie party.
6. Have lunch in foodcourt
7. Wendi gets some things at Bath & Body Works
8. Leave
I bet we were there an hour max! We were girls on a mission.

After the mall, we head out to the other mall, Bridgestreet. For some reason, Huntsville doesn't believe in having two Gaps, so I had to go there to exchange some jeans for the hubby (that 30-something 6 pack isn't what it used to be). Poor thing, he had to go from a 32" waist to a 33". He's tore up about it too!

On our way out of town we stop at the alterations shop and get our dresses pinned. I told you I would get back to that! Oh let me just tell you. I was having a fabulous day until all this! Ok, I'm sure you can't tell this, but I'm 4'11" short. No short woman should be wearing ANYTHING with tulle under the skirt. Ya'll, it was BAD!! Not to mention because it wasn't a petite, the top was down to my belly. Oh, horrible. Keep in mind I wasn't able to try on the exact dress at the store because they didn't have it in stock. The girl assured me that the dress I tried on would fit the same way because it was made by the same designer. Well, IT DIDN'T!!! I couldn't even zip the dang thing. At this point, I was ready to cry. I've been trying to lose weight and work-out for the past month, so this was absolutely discouraging. Plus, the wedding is in 3 weeks so there is no way I can order another dress. Fortunately my sweet friend brought a corset style bra and we tightened that sucker up so that I couldn't breathe! To my surprise it zipped. I still couldn't breathe, but it was good enough so they could pin the alterations in place. I've never been more humiliated in my life. So now, I have 3 weeks to lose 5-10 pounds so I don't turn blue and pass out during the wedding. What have I gotten myself into?!?

Since I had had about enough of this day, we headed back home. I dropped Wendi off at her house and headed to get my little man. It made me even more thankful for him and his unconditional love. It doesn't matter how down I am on myself or how hideous I think I am, he still loves me no matter what!

I'll keep you posted on how this all turns out! haha. I've vowed to not eat past 7 pm and NO SWEETS.....all to look good in a dress. How pathetic! Tomorrow will be a better day. I'm staying in the house :)

More Wyatt

My precious little guy.
Innocent?
Probably not!
Stinkin' Cute?
ABSOLUTELY!!!

Wyatt: "Yes, Mama, I know you're watching me."
Mama: "Baby, Don't play with that."
Wyatt: "Come on Mama, how can you say no to these blue eyes?"

Wyatt in his precious 'Wooden Soldier' outfit my aunt in Virginia sent him for Christmas. It was a little big then, but isn't it soo cute now?! We did a mini-session the other day so we could send pics to her :) He didn't particularly like it, but isn't he already great at posing for the camera?! haha.....

I'm on Drugs......

Zycam, Tylenol Sinus, and Robitussin just to name a few. I have officially got a cold. Not just any cold, the kind that requires doing absolutely NOTHING until it is over. I was just bragging the other day about how I haven't had a cold in two years, and look what happened. I guess I should've 'knocked on wood' because it is awful. I'm such a baby when I'm sick, and it's very hard to be a baby when you have a baby! haha.

I must admit I am feeling better than I did this weekend, but still not quite up to par. I hope to get off my lazy tail and do something this week so I will have something interesting to write about! As for now, I'm going to crawl back into bed with my tissue and remote and veg out with a little TLC :)

Recent Pics

Because I'm so bad at posting pics, I thought I'd share a few I've taken lately. Being that I love photography, you would think I would have tons of pics of my peeps, and I do, I just never have time to upload them to the computer. I've really got to do better at that!

1. The 2 most handsome men in the world! Both of my guys. I love this picture because it is so them. Wyatt is totally dirty, and Morgan well, he is too! Every afternoon when Morgan comes in from the farm, these two just eat each other up. I never knew how Morgan would be as a father, but I couldn't have picked a better on for Wyatt. Wyatt loves him to death! He hears him coming in the door and screams, "DAA-DAA"! It melts my heart :)

*yes, his shirt says,'This is how I roll' with a tractor tire! Don't ya love it?!
2. This is my absolute Best Friend in the entire world. She and I have been attached at the hip since we were 5, and I don't think that will ever change. We've definitely been through a lot together and I wouldn't change anything. She met her hubby through mine, our boys are 6 wks apart, and we live 5 minutes from one another. It is pure perfection! We took Mason (her son) to Nashville shopping last weekend and I snapped this on the carousel.

*If you are wondering where Wyatt was, he spent the day with his daddy that day. Mason is a much better shopping buddy than Wyatt! Wyatt can last for a Wal-Mart run, but that's about it. Mason was a great sport that day though.
3. This adorable little girl is my friend Wendi's little one, Natalie. Wendi's hubby and Morgan are best friends. When Morgan and I first started dating, Natalie was 3 months old and I have loved her from the first time I met her! She has got the sweetest heart of any 5 year old you will ever meet. She has a little brother now and we love him too. They are so special to me and Morgan.

My Little Ham

Seriously, this is how Wyatt is 99.9% of the time! He is such a ham. Now due to his mother's extraordinary personality, and his father's charm, it really doesn't surprise me but I'm afraid I am raising a comedian :) In all honesty though, this kid cracks me up daily.

The above picture is an honest depiction of how he is when he wakes up. All smiles! It is wonderful. Hardly ever does he cry to be picked up. Most of the time he just starts talking and you know he is ready to get up. I am so glad that the good Lord blessed me with such a happy baby.

My friends all joke that my next one is going to be awful, but I think kids adapt to the environment they are raised in. I hope that we always have loving, happy home to influence our children. I know that is the way it is supposed to be and it saddens me to think of the way some children grow up. I have a whole new outlook on parenting. I don't understand how any parent cannot want the absolute best for their children and put them completely first in every decision they make. I'm not the perfect parent by any means, but I do want my child to know that I love him more than anything in the world and nothing will stop my from doing what I think is absolutely best for my family.

*Wow, didn't mean to get all sentimental, it just came out for some reason! I must step down from the soap-box sometimes :)

Where Oh Where is Organized??

Ok, so since most of you have never been to my house, let me explain my dilemma. My charming little home is just that, little. Today my husband decides I need to find something to do with my book-bag and beach tote that have been in a corner of our laundry room for the last year. Why they didn't bother him before now, I don't know, but here is my problem.

They book-bag was full of decorating mags, motherhood books, and old trash mags (US, People, etc.). Now granted, I can throw away the trash mags, since Jessica has put on a few pounds and that is old news anyway! But what to do with the rest? I mean, no southern lady throws away past issues of 'Southern Living'. My mother always told me it was considered a sin, so therefor, mother knows best. Besides, when my time finally does come to build a bigger house I will need those for reference. I'm sure they will totally be out of style, but a girl can dream right?! The parenting books obviously haven't been put to use much either, but I know what I spent on all those things, and I refuse to throw them away!

So, basically I'm just a big pack rat, and I really need help. I feel like everyone else has their lives so together and mine is in complete disarray. You would think being a stay-at-home mom, I would have the perfect clean, tidy, everything has a place home but this just isn't the case. How do people do it? Am I the only one who has these problems?

Oh well, I guess I'll start figuring out what to do with the left over sunscreen in the beach bag tomorrow.......or some other day!

Please Pray for this family

Today the Macs daughter, Cora, went to be with the Lord. She was diagnosed with cancer 3 weeks ago and was called Home today at the tender age of 10 months.

I cannot imagine what this family is going through and my heart breaks to think of something happening to my child. They will need lots of prayers while they mourn the loss of their precious baby girl. Please keep them in your prayers. There is no greater pain than the loss of a child.

I pray peace be with them.

Perfect Day :)

So for any of you fellow bloggers living in North Alabama you all must agree that this is the most beautiful day we have had in FoReVeR!! For those of you who don't live here, let me just tell you it is gorgeous :)

Today started out so great. My sweet hubby didn't have to drive a school bus this morning (our insurance gig) so he was here to take care of little man and let me sleep until 8 o'clock. Which, by the way, was much needed since I stayed up until 1 this morning installing my new printer. I tell ya, there just aren't enough hours in the day! Anyway, it was so pretty when I finally got up and moving we decided to take Wyatt outside and enjoy the weather for a while. It was so perfect. We have new family of geese that have taken over our pond, so we watched them swim around a while. Then, we pushed Wyatt in his little swing and jumped on our new trampoline (courtesy of my dad who thought Wyatt needed one for Christmas. I mean, what 1 year old doesn't have a trampoline?)! He really does LOVE it. Of course, we are very cautious when Wyatt is on, but when it's just Morgan and I we tend to double bounce and see who can knock the other down......such children, I know!

Around 12 we came in and had lunch, prepared tax stuff (only bad part of my day so far), and just hung out as a little family. It was so great! I LOVE days like this. I had fully intended on going to my spinning class at 4:30, but little guy has passed out on my, so I guess I'll just be skipping that today. I really do enjoy it, but nothing beats being here with my two favorite guys in the world!

P.S. My plans for the rest of the evening include "the Bachelor" and cooking supper.....doesn't get much better than that!!!!! Tune in girls, he visits their hometowns tonight!

Please feel free to quick viewing at this point. My friend Molly is trying to teach me how to enlarge my pics so this is just an experiment! Old picture, but like I said, just an experiment!

Fireproof Your Marriage

Morgan and I finally had the opportunity to sit down and watch Fireproof tonight, and let me tell you, what a blessing it was. I'm sure most of you have heard of this movie before, but I would suggest everyone see it. It perfectly portrays a godly marriage, and more importantly how to be a godly spouse. I think not only does it benefit married couples, but also single people. It makes you understand what is so important to look for in a partner.

I am definitely not perfect in any way, but I hope that this is a wake-up call for both of us. I think we have a strong marriage, but it is a constant work-in-progress. It is so easy to get caught up in other things and put your spouse on the back-burner. It seems just when you get comfortable is when things fall apart. It takes work and keeping it alive should be a priority daily.

I love the part where she asks what day he is on and he says 43. There is only 40 days of the dare, but he started over after the first 40 days. That speaks volumes to me. You should never stop trying to win over your husband/wife. Always let them know that nothing is more important than your marriage, other than your relationship with God.
