Post full of pictures!

So, since my internet was down for a few days recently, I have quite a few pics to share. I definitely narrowed it down, because it would've taken FOREVER to upload all of them.

Wyatt's 1st Haircut
Last week, my sweet baby got his first haircut by none other than is Mama! I have a little shop at my house, but I didn't have a child's drape, or a booster. We decided it would be best if we went to my friend, Whitney's salon and did it there. It worked out well because the girls kept him entertained. I wasn't too sure how he would do, but with a bottle of water, I think we could've kept him there all day! He was perfect, and his little hair looks so much better.

My Family Reunion (Dad's side)
Last Saturday we had a family reunion on my Dad's side of the family. It was so fun to meet up with all of my distant relatives, and especially fun since many of them hadn't met Wyatt before. We had lots of fun. It was a beautiful day, with lots of good food!

Birthday Club
Monday was our first official meeting of the "birthday club". My friend Christy came up with this great idea to get all us girls together once a month to celebrate each other's birthdays. Well, this month, we didn't have any birthdays, but we got together anyway for a little girls night out! It was lots of fun. We ate at a nice little mexican restaurant in Athens. It was great until the tornados came through. Fortunately, it didn't hit near us, but they were all around. Gotta love Alabama weather!

RC Cola and Moonpie Festival Bell Buckle, TN
Ok, so me, my aunts, and my grandmother get together a few times a year and go to our favorite little town of Bell Buckle, TN. If you haven't been, and you like good food, boutiques, and antiques, you must visit! It is so much fun. This past weekend, they were having their annual RC cola and Moonpie festival. It was so much fun. Hot as a firecracker, but fun. We had the best time, and actually were able to talk my 15 year old cousin into going. She is usually too cool for us, but she was such a trooper. I totally understand that age, I remember it so well. It wasn't the greatest thing in the world to spend time with family. I'm glad she came, she is such a good girl.

While we were there, I found some really cool things.
1. A vintage grain sack (I'm collecting them for a neat art project)
2. A cute painting of a little cowboy for Wyatt's room
3. A really neat 3 strand pearl necklace
4. And my favorite of all, a birdhouse made out of salvaged lumber and metal tiles. It is so beautiful. It looks like an old church. I already found a place for it on my mantel!

At long last

I have literally been going crazy since Saturday. Why you ask? Well, due to the massive storms that came through late Friday night, we have been without internet service for 5 days now! I have been about to go out of my mind. Seriously.

I never realized how much I rely on this piece of technology to get me through life. This was how it went:

1. Wyatt's first haircut Friday....... couldn't post pics, no internet.
2. Family reunion on Saturday.......couldn't post pics, no internet.
3. Wyatt's check-up Monday....... couldn't write about it, no internet.
4. Our 1st official "birthday club" dinner...... couldn't post pics, or write about it, no internet.
5. Needed to book vacation reservations...... couldn't, no internet.
6. Needed to order prints for a client....... couldn't, no internet.
7. Needed to set up proofs for a client...... couldn't, no internet.

As you can tell, this could go on forever, but hallelujah, it's back on!! Needless to say, I'm not particularly thrilled with our internet provider, but right now I'm so happy, nothing could get me down :)

They Call him the Streak!

Yesterday we had a great time with Molly and her sweet baby girl Anna (Wyatt's future wife) at the Atlanta Bread Co. It was so nice to sit and catch up, and let the little one's meet. I guess with everything going on, I completely forgot to take any pics while we were there. Remember now, I had my camera and everything in the bag! Ugh. I was so mad when I realized what I had done. Anyway, Molly took a couple, so I might have to steal hers when she posts them!

Anyway, after lunch, I took Wyatt by my Mom's office to see her for a little bit before heading home. He LOVES going to see his Nonni!! He loves to go out in the shop and drive the "Vroom, Vroom" (fork-lift.......not literally, we just let him sit on it and hold the steering wheel). While we were there, the bottom fell out of the sky and a huge storm came through. Needless to say, it was getting close to nap time so we had to get out in that mess and drive home. It all worked out ok, just a little frizzy hair!

Today was such a great day! More rain was expected, so Morgan spent the day with us. This doesn't happen much, but around here, rain means "family time" since not much farming can be done! We were pretty bored just sitting around the house, so we headed north to Pulaski, TN. It is a small little town, so I thought we might could find a cute little diner, or something to get into. Well, we didn't!! After driving around for about 30 minutes, my growling stomach got the best of me and we just decided to go to Legend's and eat. It's a good place to eat, and Wyatt had a great time flirting with the waitresses...... this happens most places, my little man LOVES the ladies!!

When we got back home Wyatt and I took a good nap, and when we woke up the weather was gorgeous! We headed outside and played for a while. The rain had filled up Wyatt's kiddie pool, so he decided he would go in- CLOTHES and all! I stripped him down to just a diaper, but then realized that wasn't really working when it started sagging down to his knees from all of the water. What's a girl to do? "Let him skinny dip", Morgan says. So, that's just what he did. And might I add, he had a BLAST!!

We are going to have to have a talk about this when he gets older. He has to know this isn't appropriate for anyone over the age of 3!! haha

No swimming in the fountain!!

Yesterday I had a photo session with my friend's kiddos at the college in our town. Since they are great friends, and Morgan was in the hay field, I took Wyatt along with us. We had so much fun, and he was so good. One of the last stops of our shoot was at the fountain in the middle of campus. Wendi gave all the kids change to throw in, but Wyatt had other ideas. He tried so hard to break away from the stroller and dive in. Needless to say, this didn't happen, but it was so cute I had to snap a couple of pics of him! He is a mess, and definitely a water baby!!

*******

On another note, I am so excited about tomorrow! One of my BFF's and fellow blogger Molly and her cutie pie (whom I haven't met yet) are in town, and they are meeting us for lunch. I've already packed my camera in my purse so I can take some pics of Anna and Wyatt..... who knows, we might could arrange a marriage for the two someday!! That would be just fine with me :)

*******

BTW, I am totally aware that I am the worst mother in the world for not cutting Wyatt's hair yet! He so needs a haircut, but since I am the family's sole hairstylist, it is hard to find someone to take pictures of the special occasion (ok, lame excuse I know). Anyway, it will be done soon, because as you can tell he has the beginning stages of a "baby mullet".......I refuse to let that happen!!! Just thought I would give you the scoop since I posted this picture :)

Girlfriends

This weekend we had the best time hanging out at our friends river house. It was so much fun. Whitney (on the left) and her husband, Jeff (driving boat) have to greatest little house on the river. Jeff is an amazing cook, and so we ate great and had a wonderful time hanging out with friends.

I was just thinking today how blessed I am to have such amazing girlfriends. Christy (middle) and I have been inseparable since kindergarden. There is nothing I wouldn't do for her. It is crazy, growing up I think I spent more time at her house than I did my own. We were ALWAYS together. I feel so lucky to have someone like her in my life. When I was 19 I had a bad car accident. I lived about 30 minutes away from her at the time, but she would come to my house, help me bathe, fix my hair/make-up and just get me out of the house for a while. She is truly the epitome of a best friend. We've been together through divorces, boyfriends, moves, children, and everything else imaginable.

I didn't meet Whitney until Morgan and I started dating, but I knew right away that we would hit it off. Morgan and I were out riding 4-wheelers one afternoon and we met up with her and her husband. Morgan had known her for years (they are our neighbors), but I had no clue who she was. As a matter of fact, I wasn't sure we would mesh too well. She was out in the middle of the woods with all her make-up on, bright red fingernails, a big ole ring, and her hair done up. I thought for sure this chick was HIGH MAINTENANCE!! I couldn't have been more wrong. She was just a hairdresser (talk about the pot calling the kettle black!). Turns out, she thought the same thing about me.......mind you, I didn't have the nails and jewelry going on quite as much as she did! Anyway, we have become the best of friends over the past 6 years. Her husband and Morgan are close also. We get together at least 3 times a week for supper. She jokes to everyone that I am their "other wife". haha. I'm a little more domesticated than she is to say the least!

Don't get me wrong, these are just two of my great friends. All of my girlfriends are very important to me and I know I could count on them for anything. It is so important to surround yourself with women who understand you and support you in everything you do. There are so many times I meet girls who say they "don't like" other girls. Well, that just isn't the case here. I LOVE my friends, and they mean so much to me!!

I'm so much better BEHIND the camera!

Ok, so last Wednesday, my fellow photog friend, Apryl, and I got together to do a couple of shots of each other. I was needing one for my website, and I asked her if she would mind shooting them for me. Well, needless to say, I would much rather be behind the lens than in front of it! It gives me a whole new respect for my sweet clients. I realize now how uncomfortable it truly is. I mean, I've had family pictures made recently, but it is completely different when it's just YOU!!!

These are my favs from the session. *BTW, these have been edited like crazy!!! I mean, if they have to photoshop Gisele, there was NO WAY I was gonna turn these over without a little touch-up!

I am completely aware that I look SOO MEAN in this picture. I look like I could KILL someone!

Look What's Coming to My Door!

Matilda Jane!

For those of you who have never heard of this clothing line, you must check it out! They have the most adorable little girl's clothes, but guess what?! They have big girl stuff too! My first purchase actually arrived today.

This super cute dress was out of stock at the company, but I found it on ebay for the same price and it was new with tags! I've already tried it on, and it is so stinkin' cute!

I contacted our local trunk keeper to order this dress. It isn't here yet, but I can't wait to get it!
This top was listed out of stock online in my size, but I'm checking into ordering too. I think it is so pretty and feminine!
Of course, their little girl's clothes are the cutest! I am ordering this dress for my friend's little girl for her birthday in July. I can't wait to see her in it! I'm definitely going to be taking some pics!
