What I've been up to

Taking lots of pictures! I don't get a chance to post everyday, but I love keeping up with everyone else's blogs. It really does make my day.

Yesterday was so much fun. I met a friend at the college campus downtown and we took pictures of her sweet little girl. She recently turned 3 and she is so much fun! I love taking pictures so much, but having sweet little people like her makes it so worth while.

On another note, little man still isn't walking. We have an appointment on the 21st with the ENT to possibly talk about putting tubes in his ears. I really believe that the reason he hasn't taken off is because his ears have got him off balance. He has had 3 ear infections in the past 3 months. I really hope they do tubes and it helps him. It is hard to see him hurt.

Today we are staying in! I have been running like crazy this week, so I just decided we would have a fun day at home. We have done absolutely NOTHING. As a matter of fact, as I write this, it is almost 11 and neither Wyatt or I have changed out of our Pjs! I love days like this. I've already planned our supper tonight, and I so look forward to cooking. I haven't been able to all week since we've been so busy!

I hope everyone has a great day. I'll try to do better about posting, but I can't make any promises. Besides, I enjoy reading about your lives far more than writing about mine :)

Weight Watchers

I'm back! So, in October of 2006 I joined Weight Watchers. I was needing to lose weight, and basically decided I needed to be healthy because I knew we would be trying for a baby the following year. Between October of 2006 and January of 2007 I lost and maintained 18lbs. I felt great, and I was at the smallest I remember myself being. I've never been really small, but I'm only 4'11'' so every pound shows on me. Anyway, I was thrilled! That was, until April of 2007 when I got pregnant with my sweet Wyatt! I had accomplished what I set out to do, but it was still hard because I knew I would have to lose it again.

During my entire pregnancy with Wyatt I gained exactly 30 lbs, which is considerably healthy. After I gave birth to Wyatt, I was able to lose 20 of those pounds, but I have kept on the last 10. I've tried doing other things up until this point, but the other day I realized "I know what works"! So, today I joined......again! It was really great when I went into the meeting today. It felt so comfortable, and just like I needed to be there. It is so realistic to know that I eat normal food, just in moderation. I hope I can stick to this, because I have really got to get myself under control. I think a healthy goal for right now would be 20 lbs. I would really like to lose 30 to be in my perfect weight, but I am setting realistic goals right now. We can worry about those other 10 another day! Knowing my luck, I'll lose my 20 and end up pregnant again! It wouldn't be the worst thing in the world though :)

Is it ever going to end?

Let me just tell you, I am sick to death of this crazy Alabama weather we have been having lately. Ok, so I understand it's spring, but there is no such thing as SPRING in Alabama. Anytime past March, it is supposed to be HOT. Well, that has not been the case. Today, I don't think we even broke 60.

In my pea-brained little head, I was totally thinking the sickness months were over. Let me just tell you, THEY'RE NOT!! Wyatt has been pulling at his ear for the past two days, and yesterday it started draining the most awful nasty stuff you have ever seen in your life. Today, I call and make him a doctors appointment and sure enough, it's an ear infection.....I knew this already, but unfortunately I didn't get a fancy degree, so I can't write our prescriptions! haha. Anyway, our wonderful pediatrician suggests we see an ENT. I immediately though tubes. So many of our friends kids have had to have them, and I know they help, but it still makes me a little nervous about my little guy having a procedure. The doc said I shouldn't be concerned if they do have to put in tubes, because 9 times out of 10 the children never have anymore ear problems. Well, that was enough for me. If we don't have to go through all this again next winter I will be in hog heaven! I will keep you informed on what the specialist decides to do.

On a side note, while I was in the office, I asked Wyatt's pediatrician about him not walking yet. This has bothered me for quite sometime now. He's 15 months and everyone has been asking if he is walking yet. Automatically, I think something is wrong because you hear all these stories about, "My baby was walking at 9 months." It was starting to make me really worried. So, I was telling the doc about how he would hold on and walk all over the place, but he never lets go. Well, don't you know she had him walking 5 steps to her! Ugghhh, how frustrating! Turns out, he's just chicken and I'm a sucker! haha

"But Honey.....

it's a muscle car." he said. "Ya don't say." I said.

The past week my husband has been helping a friend work on a 1965 Ford Mustang he is re-modeling. Keep in mind, this friend is a successful, patio-home living, good time having, woman chasing (no offense) run of the mill BACHELOR. In other words, no wife, no child, no "real" responsibilities. I love him to pieces, but he is the perfect guy for a "MuScLe CaR", as they say. So anyhow, my sweet hubby goes and pulls out the 1976 Ford Mustang he has had since high school that has been living in the in-laws garage for the past, oh 15 years. It seems like when one guy gets an idea, it has a trickle-down effect. Which in turn, makes it pretty rough on the one with the wife. Who by the way, has been begging for a Polaris Ranger for the past 6 months. I think it would be perfect for Wyatt and I to toodle around the farm! Anyway, I had been pretty good about dealing with the fact that I wasn't going to get one anytime soon....UNTIL.....he starts talking about putting THOUSANDS of dollars in this thing to quote: "Make it Mean". Well, it didn't get much better from there as I proceeded to tell him that he is gonna make me MEAN if I get put off for a silly MUSCLE car. Which is so not practical for us or anything that we do. We live on a chicken farm for heaven's sake. We need a Mean Tractor, not Mustang! haha. So, I guess I won this little battle......

You can now find it listed on Craig's List! Look out Ranger here we come!! haha

Where Have I Been???

Today, I delivered pictures to one of my sweet clients from the Easter sessions. First of all, let me just tell you her house was UNBELIEVABLE!! It was total perfection. They live on a beautiful cattle farm, and their home is gorgeous. She has got exquisite taste. What was so neat was how she made it her own. There were wonderful pictures and little touches everywhere. She even had mismatched dinning chairs which I think are so neat, but I didn't have the guts to do. They looked great! I kept seeing all these beautiful decals of sayings, and little artistic designs. Well, who would've known, she is a rep for UpperCase Living. I must been totally behind, but I never knew such a thing existed. I'm hooked. I WILL be getting some of these!

The Bag Lady

It's no secret that I'm a complete and total bag freak! I'm obsessed. Any kind, it doesn't matter, I love them. I will go to the cosmetic counter and buy make-up just to get the free bag. Pathetic right?

Anyway, these are a few that I'm eyeing lately!

Pottery Barn Diaper Bag. I've been wanting this for a couple of months now, but I can't bring myself to spend $150 on it. Oh SALE.......where are you?!?!?
These super cute collapsable totes are so functional. I was thinking it would be great for the car. You never know when you are gonna need a blanket, jacket, snack etc.! I'm definately gonna be buying one of these cuties! The Container Store carries them, along with a lot of other super neat stuff!!

Our boys

So as you all know, I've been super busy with Easter pics lately, but yesterday I was finally able to get Wyatt's done. Poor child. His Mama's a photographer and he has to be last! Anyway, my best friend Christy and I took our boys (who are 6 weeks apart) to Mooresville to do their pictures. We had so much fun. They are so different, but I think they will be great friends too though the years!

This is little Mason with the bunny! He didn't quite know what to think of her at first.

And of course, Wyatt, my little ham!! He is such an unhappy child....haha j/k :)

We wanted to take some of them together to give to our families. Christy and I have been friends for 20 years, so we are really like family. I can't wait to show our parents these!

Wyatt loves to play in the grass, it tickles his feet (they are super sensitive)!! So, I LOVED this one.

Is it just me?!?

Or does it take everyone FOREVER to download pictures to your blogs? I would really love to post more often, but I feel like it takes 20 minutes each time I want to post pics! I wish I could be a more dedicated blogger, but I have a hard time finding time!

Anyway, this is going to be a "pictureless" post because frankly I am tired and it is all I can do just to write this without passing out on the keyboard:)  I know, I really should go to bed at a decent hour, but I've been proofing pictures since this is the only time I get without little man needing my attention!

Life around my house has been hectic lately, to say the least. For the past two weeks I've been doing Easter sessions with kiddos and a sweet little bunny named "Ruby"! We aren't really sure if Ruby is a girl, but it seems to look like one to me, so without going into checking and all that we are just gonna say she is! I've had such a good time, but I'll tell ya, it is about to wear me out. Between finding someone to watch Wyatt, keeping up somewhat of an orderly house, and proofing until the wee hours of the morning I feel like I need a vacation. I really am not complaining though, I absolutely LOVE it. I am so fortunate to have found a creative outlet and still be able to make a little money as well. For you stay at home moms, you know sometimes you just gotta do something for yourself. I think that is so important. Don't get my wrong, I love my sweet boy with every inch of my being, but there is only so much you can talk to a 14 month old about! Plus, on the days when I do my sessions he gets to spend time with his sweet Nanna or Granny. They just love him to pieces and he adores them as well, so it all works out.

Aside from all that, I've also been trying to find the time to work out. Oh heavenly day, has that been hard. It is funny, I think this weather has everyone motivated. I really try to get to the track and walk on the days that the rain holds off (which has been pretty abundant around here), and it seems like EVERYONE has the same idea! It makes me happy to see people out though. I know spring is on its way! My friend and I have been totally motivated by Valerie Bertanelli.....haha. When the People arrived this week and I saw her 48 year old self in a bikini with those ripped up abs, I thought "If she can do it at 48, surely I can do it at 25!" So, yes, that is my goal. Not that I would wear that skimpy thing she had on, but I sure would like to know I could if I wanted to :)

So, I guess that pretty much catches things up for now. I'm going to try to get an order placed and head off to bed. I've got to get ready for tomorrow, a wonderful day with my sweet boy! Life is good.
